Deacon John W. Hopkins, age 79 of Bunn, departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Louisburg.  Interment will follow at Zion Springs Memorial Gardens, Bunn. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM prior to the funeral service at the church.

He is survived by: his wife, Lena F. Hopkins of 55 years; his sons. Pastor John A. Hopkins Sr. (Jeanette Hopkins) of  Youngsville, North Carolina, Elder Joel Hopkins (Gia Hopkins) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Donte Hopkins of the home; his siblings, Willie Hopkins (Margaret Hopkins) of Spring Hope, North Carolina, Alma Ruth Dillard of Bunn, North Carolina, Deloris Ann Hopkins of Wilson, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Sarah Debnam, Joel Hopkins Jr, Chastity Hopkins, Tiffany Hopkins, Alexsis Hopkins, Jamicah Hopkins and John Hopkins Jr.; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Hopkins and Jasmine Chin; close friend, Trustee James Miles of Bunn, North Carolina; 
one Brother-in-law, Bishop Joseph Lucas of Wendell,;three sisters-in-law, Barbara A. Cooke of Wendell, North Carolina, Carol G. Brooks (Willie Brooks) of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Brenda Gayle McConney (Richard McConney) of Wendell, North Carolina.
