Mr. James Lucas

Mr. James Lucas, age 73, departed this earthly life on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Durham VA Medical Center, Durham,

Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at St. Mary's Church of Christ (DOC), Bailey.  A visitation will be held from 1-2PM, with the family receiving friends from 1:30-2PM prior to the funeral service at the church.

Interment will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, June 4, 2018 at Eastern State Veteran Cemetery, Goldsboro.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  his wife, Barbara Yvonne Lucas; four children, Johnnie Earl Lucas of Rocky Mount, NC, Elvis Perry (Pat) of Bailey, NC, Teresa Lucas and Gerald Wayne Lucas (Lisa) both of Atlanta, GA; two brothers and two sisters, Carl Lucas (Dixie) of Spring Hope, NC, Wallace Ray Lucas (Dawn) of Rocky Mount, NC, Lula B. Jones of Upper Marlboro, MD and Thelma Joyce Lucas Richardson (Carlton) of Bailey, NC.  Also left to cherish his memory is the couple that the Lucas' adopted into their family, Bobby and Alice Bland of Washington, DC; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Katie Lucas and Mae Lucas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
