Mr. Franklin "Frank" D. Jones

It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, family member and friend, Frank Jones on Thursday, September 15 th , 2022.

He will be missed. Many of you remember conversations within the last week or so.

In early August after trouble with his walking and balance, doctors discovered a mass that was pressing on his spine causing the issue. Frank was ready to beat this hurdle. He was admitted to Duke Hospital for treatment of the cancer. The doctors were pleased, and a plan was created to stop the cancer. He was moved to the Brian Center Rehabilitation Center to rebuild his strength and fully recover his mobility. Frank was on a mission to return to his beloved Wilson! Unfortunately, on Tuesday September 13 th , he fell ill to a bacterial infection which he was unable to fight due to a weakened immune system from chemotherapy. Frank fought with all his might for a couple of days, but finally surrendered to God’s will. We are at peace knowing he is reunited with the love of his life, Bobbie Jones. Please continue to pray for our comfort, peace and understanding. We are so grateful for your love and support when we need it the most.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September  21, 2022 at LN Forbes Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Ext., Wilson. Interment will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM at the church prior to services. 

Frank leaves to cherish and continue his legacy, his children:  Collette, NJ; Darrell, CA; Freddy (Phyllis), MI; Bobbie (Rodger), GA and Emmanuel, NC.; brothers Marvin ¨MC"(Lois), MD; Napoleon ¨Rube¨ (Esther), DC; sisters-in-law, Patricia, NC, Jamesetta & Kathrine (Leon), NJ; grandchildren, Vernon, India, Naimah, Farahd, Kahlia & Robert, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
