Mr. Joseph Edward Freeman, Sr.

Mr. Joseph Freeman Sr., age 82, of Durham, NC, departed this earthly life on Monday, July 26, 2021.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 30, 2021, at William Toney's Funeral Home, Spring Hope. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at William Toney's Funeral Home, Spring Hope.

Joe is survived by: his wife Geneva Pettiford Freeman; son Joseph E. Freeman Jr., daughter-in-law Gabriela Cohen Freeman, and grandchildren Marcelo Cohen Freeman and Lara Cohen Freeman; daughter Sonya Freeman Wahab and son-in-law Naeem Wahab; one brother William Freeman Jr.; three sisters, Barbara Gordon, Lydia Freeman, and Diane Price; and mother-in-law Rozell Pettiford who loved to hug on and debate with her “Big Baby Joe.” Joseph also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who are family, all of whom have great memories of “Big Joe.” He will be greatly missed.
