Ms. Bonnie Sue Lucas Boakye, age 65 of Wilson, NC, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Suggs Christian Temple Baptist Church 1620 Stantonsburg Road SE, Wilson North Carolina.   A Public Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 26, 2024 at William Toney's Funeral Home located at 516 S. Poplar Street, Spring Hope, NC. 

Bonnie Sue Lucas Boakye, of Wilson, NC, departed her earthly vessel on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Bonnie was born in Spring Hope, NC, on March 16, 1958, to the late Roy Lucas Sr and
Bernice (Baines Lucas) Adjeman. Her husband Eugene O Boakye, son Nana Y Boakye, and two brothers, Roy Guilford Lucas and Baby Boy Lucas, preceded her in death. In 1966, Bonnie became a resident of Worcester, MA, where she resided for fifty-six years. She graduated from North High School, class of 1976, and further her studies at Anna Maria College in 1978. She began her career with the Worcester Housing Authority as a model employee for thirteen years. She transferred those skills to Community Builders- Plumley Village East and worked for Oriol Health Care, in West Boylston, MA, before relocating back to North Carolina. Idleness was not in Bonnie’s vocabulary. She was determined to use her skills to improve the
lives of others. In 2023, Bonnie accepted a position with Housing Management Resources, a property manager at Richardson Court Apartments in Nashville, NC. Bonnie will be
remembered for her caring heart and the sincere love she had for her residents. Bonnie received the call from Jehovah and was baptized more than thirty years ago. It was her faith and determination that guided her work as a Jehovah’s Witness. It is this faith that will be remembered by the lives she touched.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tamera, Eugenia, and Nicol Ekow Boakye, of Worcester, MA. Three grandchildren, Isaac and Sarah Boateng, and Muyi Jr. Umheni,
of Worcester, MA. Her five siblings are Iola Lucas Vance of Worcester, MA; Willistine Lucas of Wilson, NC; Walter Lucas (Debra) of Las Vegas, NV; Roy Lucas Jr. of Worcester, MA; Deborah
Lucas Jackson of Waterbury, CT; one uncle, Jerome Baines (Julie) of New York; three aunts, Sylvia L Baines of Westbury, NY; Dorothy Braswell of Wilson, NC; Inez Rountree of Elm City,
NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The viewing will occur Friday, January 26, 2024, at William Toney’s Funeral Home, 516 S. Poplar St., Spring Hope, NC, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday,
January 27, 2024, at Suggs Christian Temple Freewill Baptist Church, 1602 Stantonsburg Rd, Wilson, NC. The burial will take place in Worcester, MA.
