Happy Birthday! It still doesn't feel right to not be able to call you. I've tried to call you with hopes that it is just a dream but the reality is it's real. It's so different not hearing your voice or laugh. I still remember our last conversation and I know that you are watching over me. Happy Birthday Uncle!!!

God strengthens us by giving us the "power beyond what is normal" to make it through each passing day. Psalm 46:1 says; "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! Message from Your Niece
November 23, 2017 1:22 AM

I have been coming to this page everyday to make sure this is reality. Everyday your name and picture appears. This is so surreal to me to know that I have to tell you, my Uncle farewell. You know that eventually the time will come but you don't expect it.

To know that my trips home will no longer be surrounded by your jokes, laughter or your famous line, "let me hold something" is hard for me. I couldn't even get out the car good and you made sure to remind me before you left (laughing).
When I last talked to you, you said you were going to do what I said (you remember). You asked me when I was coming back home and I said I didn't know but I was planning a trip because I missed you when I came in April. I was at work that day and we talked for over an hour.

I'm mad at myself because everytime I said I was going to call you, I got busy with the kids and I put if off until later. When I didn't hear from you on my birthday, I should have known something was wrong. I talked to you every year on my birthday even when I was in school. You never missed calling me. I said I was going to call you Thursday or Friday and I didn't get around to it. Instead, I got the call that you were no longer here.

Words can't express the emotions that I have because I haven't had to say farwell to a male family member who played a part in my life growing up since my daddy. I've been crying everyday thinking about all the ups and downs we had and how you always brought laughter to the room no matter what. You worked my nerves to the fullest when I was in high school but we shared more laughs than anything. If I had it, I let you hold it. When I hid my snacks from you, I still gave you some cause you came running when you heard the bags rattling like a child (laughing).

You have gained your wings and I thank God for choosing you to be my Uncle, for being with me for 37 years, and I wouldn't trade you for nothing. Things will never be the same without you but your memory will forever live on. I love you to the moon and back

Love Always,
Amber
